By Weber Automotive
April 18, 2019 Category: Engine

Many car owners believe that they can take their cars into any shop when their check engine light comes on and the shop will scan the vehicle and immediately identify the issue. However, the scan does not tell you what the problem is; it only tells you that there is an issue. What Happens When the Check Engine Light Comes On? When the check engine light comes on it means the computer that operates the power train sees something out of its programmed parameters, and that generally indicates theres a problem with the vehicle. At Weber Automotive, we offer a free code scan in order to provide our customers with more value. If your check engine light comes on, we will run our code scanner which gives us direction to tell you where the problem is. From there we can tell you what tests have to be done beyond that scan to determine exactly whats causing that light to come on. The code is not a diagnosis as it does not tell you what needs to be done to solve that problem. Car Doctors It

The Importance of Regular Inspection on Your Vehicle

By Weber Automotive
April 11, 2019 Category: Vehicle Inspections

A full inspection is an important part of preventative maintenance for your vehicle, and you cant get it done everywhere! If you take your car to one of those quick lube businesses, they will inspect your vehicle, but youre only going to get basic checks. Our Policy Unlike many other shops, we have a policy that every time a vehicle comes in a shop for an oil change or whatever it may be that we do a full inspection including a digital inspection. We record whats wrong with any part. We check every light bulb, exterior, and interior, on the vehicle. We look under the hood as seen in the picture below. We check your belts, hoses, fluids, air filter, for oil leaks, and much more. Why We Always Do Inspections The reasons we always do inspections is to serve our customers better. Its better to know about any malfunctions or leaks ahead of time rather than when it causes a major problem. This approach saves you money as repairs, when caught early, cost much less than a full-on replacement.
