Standard vs. Full Synthetic Oil Changes

We all know the importance of regular oil changes for our vehicles, but not everyone understands the different types of oil that can be used.

Standard or Premium Oil

Synthetic oil is a premium oil, and some vehicle engines are designed for this type of oil. If you have a car that requires this premium type of oil, then you can potentially create issues.

  • Void the factory warranty
  • Compromise the engine
  • Cause premature wear

If your vehicle doesn't have a synthetic oil requirement, standard oil is sufficient. However, you can still upgrade and use synthetic oil to help protect the engine and get better mileage.

How Can I Tell What Type of Oil My Vehicle Needs?

  • You can refer to the owner's manual.
  • Sometimes the oil cap will say what type of oil is necessary.
  • Give us a call, and we can help!

How Often Should I Have My Oil Changed?

Another important thing to keep in mind when thinking about the oil in your vehicle is how often you are changing that oil. The manufacture recommendations are often too long these days. We suggest reducing the service period by 30% for maximum engine health.
