engine repair or rebuilding

We all know how costly an engine repair can be!  Good preventative maintenance can prevent most engine malfunctions. Changing the engine oil before it breaks down is a key factory in extending engine life. Shortening manufacturer recommended oil change intervals by approximately 20-30% is the average to make sure you are maximizing the engine life cycle. We provide a 30 point inspection with every service, check levels and topping off fluids, checking belts & hoses, battery life, exterior lights, air filter, tire condition & pressure as well as steering and suspension.

Overheating

Most issues which involve engine overheating are related to low coolant levels. Regular maintenance by checking and replacing the coolant in your vehicle can prevent dangerous overheating, allowing you to get more miles out of your engine overall.

Frequent overheating, or overheating for an extended amount of time, can heavily damage an engine, requiring costly repairs or even full engine replacement.  A cracked or blown head gasket is a common cause for engine overheating, generally detectable due to rapid coolant loss and white exhaust smoke.

Other causes for engine overheating include:

  • Dirty coolant
  • Dirty or old air filter
  • Defective radiator cap
  • Coolant leak
  • Faulty coolant fan
  • Faulty thermostat
  • A Kinked or deteriorated radiator hose
Engine Maintenance

Although diesel engines don't require tune-ups and tend to last longer than gasoline engines, they do require regular maintenance. Typical maintenance tasks include:

  • Changing the oil & filter
  • Changing the air filter
  • Changing the fuel filter
  • Bleeding the fuel system
  • Draining the water separators
  • Refilling the urea injection system
Stick to a Schedule

We will also check the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule to ensure that your engine is being properly cared for to ensure against engine failure. Fluid flushes & fuel system cleanings as recommended by the manufacturer are critical to the life of your engine. We will advise you as to when these services are due.
